Dr. Feargal and Dr. Juliet Duff, members of UNEP, visiting Vila Kalango before attending Rio+20

Between June 13 and June 22 took place in Rio de Janeiro to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, the meeting organized by the UN and that has the greatest political leaders of the world to discuss new forms of sustainability that will dictate the behavior and actions of companies and people for the next couple of years.

The environmentalists couple, Dr. Feargal and Dr. Juliet Duff, members of the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), went directly from Ireland to attend the Rio +20 event. Feargal Duff has been working since 2000 as an environmental advisor, working with governments, organizations and institutions around the world to apply social environmental attitudes. His wife, Juliet Anne Duff, currently works giving introductory lectures on eco health for freshmen students at a university in Ireland. The two teamed up their passion for nature and now fight for the preservation of the environment through a more self-sustaining world.

Before going to Rio de Janeiro, they visited Jijoca Jericoacoara (Ceará – Brazil) to receive an honor for his work in protecting the environment, besides giving a lecture on sustainable tourism and actions that could be applied in Jericoacoara region. The couple chose Vila Kalango to stay at as the inn call sustainable features.
