Tsara Komba Lodge receives a Worldwide Hospitality Award and works harder for sustainable development in Madagascar.
Tsara Komba Lodge hotel—the Caring Luxury Ecolodge in Madagascar, on Nosy Komba island, the lemur island, the most beautiful of the islands of the Nosy Be archipelago—has won the Worldwide Hospitality Awards 2012 for the category ‘Best Initiative in Sustainable Development‘. And it’s no short-term policy: Tsara Komba Lodge, sponsor and first partner of an NGO called Villages and People since it was set up, is stepping up its work.
Artist Angels for Madagascar is sponsored by UNESCO. Supported by the Foreign Ministry, the Institut Français in Paris, and the French Embassy to Madagascar.
In 2013 it is holding a charity fundraising sale for Villages and People, an NGO which supports underprivileged Madagascan populations (access to water, education, a dignified environment and health). These people live on less than a dollar a day. The sale, to be called “Artist Angels for Madagascar”, will be held at Christie’s in Paris on 30 January 2013 at 8 p.m. The sale concludes an exhibition running from 19 – 30 January.
